The Myth of The Slow Holiday Season
In most industries (other than retail) you hear that business slows around the holiday season. People are more preoccupied with dinners, family and gifts to worry about much else. However, at least for our business, we've seen that the holiday season rarely stops sellers and buyers from taking care of business. Buyers that look at your property during the holidays are generally serious, because they've taken time out of their busier than usual schedules. Real estate also sees an influx of buyers that are looking to purchase before the end of the year for tax benefits. "The industry measures the percentage of sales to the total number of new properties on the market - new properties being those that have been on the market for 30 days or less. November and December have the highest amount of sales relative to the number of new homes that are listed on the market. What this means for the home seller is that if they list their home during November or December, they have a much greater potential for exposure within the first thirty days, than they do during the rest of the year.
